David Warner Appointed Captain for T20 Series Sgainst Sri Lanka


David Warner will lead the Aussies Side in remaining games in their tour to Sri Lanka 2016. Steven Smith opted out to give himself adequate rest before start of long season ahead. Cricket Australia have announced squad for two Twenty20 International series which is scheduled to take place after One-Day Series gets over.

David Warner to remain captain during Twenty20 International in absence of regular captain Steven Smith. They also included Peter Nevill as wicket-keeper to replace Matthew Wade who is currently in service for Australia in One-Day International games.

Victorian all-rounder Glen Maxwell who was left out during One-Day now returns for Twenty20 along with Queensland star batsman Chris Lynn.

Australia Squad (For Twenty20 Internationals): David Warner (C), Scott Boland, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, John Hastings, Travis Head, Moises Henriques, Chris Lynn, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Peter Nevill, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa

First Twenty20 game will be played on September 6 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele while second is scheduled to be played on September 9 at R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
