Pakistan dominance over Caribbeans continues in One-Day International series as well, they thrashed visitors by 111 run in first ODI on 30 September. Story remains same for West Indies once again they failed to apply themselves in the middle at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.
Babar Azam were sensational in first ODI where he scored 120 runs giving Pakistan a solid platform after early departure of skipper Azhar Ali on first ball of inning. He and Sharjeel khan together added 82 runs before Sharjeel Khan was caught by Sunil Narine of the bowling of Sulieman Benn.
Bowling has been superb since start of Twenty20 series for host, Imad Wasim were star in T20I series now Mohammad Nawaz picked up four wickets in first game. Hasan Ali though bowled only 5.4 over still he was able to register three scalps to his name conceding only 14 runs.
Meanwhile, visitors seems to be suffering same problem again and again. Collapse in batting have been a major problem with insufficient contribution from top order and big name not playing upto their caliber. Marlon Samuels (46 runs) one of the experienced player in the visitors side got settled but he was unable to convert it into big inning.
Opener needs to give team good start and players like Kieron Pollard and Darren Bravo needs to understand their importance for the team because without their contribution result of the upcoming matches are not going to be different. Bolwers have done well but their batting is letting them down.
Carlos Brathwaite was pick of the bowler from first game who picked up three wickets while rest of the bowlers except Pollard managed to pick one wicket each. Sulieman Benn remained economical bowler conceding 46 runs of his 10 overs.
West Indies will need to tighten up if they are to get a positive outcome from second game. We may see few changes in visitors squad but host is not expected to tinker their winning combination.
