West Indies aims comeback against unpredictable Pakistan in second game


Pakistan defeated World T20 champions comprehensively by 9 wickets, thanks to Imad Wasim whose 5-for helped Pakistan restrict Caribbean to just 115 runs. Babar Azam played brilliant knock of 37-balls 55 along with Khalid Latif who stayed cautiously during chase scored 34 runs.

Pakistan won the toss and opeted to bowl first, Imad Wasim didn’t disappointed his captain sent back danger man Evin Lewis on fifth ball of first over of inning. Then, it was collapse of batting line-up, Andre Fletcher and Marlon Samules was removed in same over from Imad Wasim. Former scored 2 runs while later managed to add 4 runs to the total.

Reckless shots from West Indians batsman pushed them in deep trouble when Nicolas Pooran nicked one to Sarfraz Ahmed and West Indies scoreboard read only 22 runs. Brave Bravo, continued at one end while at other end, one could see batsman in and out. Dwayne Bravo and Jerome Taylor rescued West Indies with some counter-aggressive batting, putting on a half century stand for the ninth wicket.

Record partnership for ninth wicket between to savior was broken by Sohail Tanvir who clean bowled Jerome Taylor at his individual score of 21 runs of 21 balls. Bravo played fighting inning of 55 runs of 54 balls to give something on board for their bowlers.

While chasing small total of 115 runs, Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif gave Pakistan good start. Duo added 28 runs for the first wicket before Sharjeel Khan was cleaned up by Samuel Badree. Next in the middle was Babar Azam who kept hitting ball out of the boundary, his inning of 55 runs included 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Eventually, Pakistan reached the target comfortably with 9 wickets remaining. Pakistan lead 3-match Twenty20 International series 1-0 with second game to be played on Saturday (24 September).
