Historic day in First-Class Cricket of India saw 17 wickets with pink ball on first day of match between India Green and India Red. Seamers completely dominated opening day of first match of Dileep Trophy 2016.
India Red were bundled out for modest total of 161 runs in first inning. They suffered collapse in batting line-up courtesy fabulous bowling from Sundeep Sharma and Ankit Rajpoot who sneaked through top order. Six batsman among top seven could score only 20 runs which clearly reveals how kind they were to their opponent.
Abhinav Mukund (77 runs) stayed at the crease and he could only see wickets falling at other end regularly. Anureet Singh (32 runs) was second highest run scorer for India Green which helped them to reach 161 runs which looked difficult when India Red were struggling at 94/7. Abhinav Mukund was cleaned up by Pragyan Ojha who chipped three wickets in just 5.2 overs he bowled.
India Green started their first inning with losing Robin Uthappa on first ball of second over when he departed adding just one run. They continued their inning in similar fashion as India Red that is they also kept losing wickets forcing them to struggle for every run.
Parthiv Patel (24 runs) and Suresh Raina (35 runs) held Greens inning for sometimes but Parthiv Patel was sent back by Kuldeep Yadav (3 wickets) and later he hunted Suresh Raina too. Nathu Singh grabbed three wicket including wicket of opening batsman Robin Uthappa.
India Green are struggling at 116/6 and they are 45 runs behind. So, an interesting day is waiting ahead when both team will take field on second day. Saurabh Tiwary (27 runs) and Ashok Dinda are unbeaten players at the stumps on Day 1.
