Zimbabwe faced clean sweep in three-match One-Day International series while they lost Twenty20 series 2-1 against India recently. Graeme Cremer will lead the host side coached by former African fast bowler Makhaya Ntini who has taken over as new coach of Zimbabwe.

Hamilton Masakadza and Craig Ervine will be the key players for the hosts if batting department is concern while they will definitely miss pace-bowler Tendai Chatara who has been ruled out due to an ankle injury. Donald Tiripano is expected to take responsibiity who performed well during Twenty20 series against India.

New Zealand will be led by new test captain Kane Williamson taking over from star player Brendon MacCullum. It has been couple of months since Kiwis took field however players have been playing in other tournaments like Indian Premier League and ongoing NatWest T20 Blast and Caribbean Premier League 2016.

Last time Kiwis played was against Australia in February where they managed to win One-Day International sereis 2-1 but they were white-washed in two match test series. Brendon McCullum was only batsman from from New Zealand in top five leading run-scorer.

Meanwhile, Visitors have players like Kane Williamson, Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Martin Guptill who are individually match winners. It is useless to say New Zealand will go into this test as favorite.
