Barbados Tridents will take on St. Lucia Zouks in 18th match of Caribbean Premier League 2016 on Sunday (17 July) [Monday 18 July in India] at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.
Fixture: Barbados Tridents vs St Lucia Zouks, 18th Match/ BT vs SLZ
Time/Date: 4:30 AM IST (18 July)/ 11:00 PM GMT/ 07:00 PM LOCAL/ 17 July
Venue: Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados
Barbados Trident comes into this fixture after losing their last encounter against defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders. They lost the match by seven wickets despite posting decent total of 172 runs on the board.
Barbados seems to be relying much on AB de Villers, Shoib Malik and skipper Kieron Pollard who have done most of the work till now. It has been only story for Barbados if they fails then they find themselves in trouble due to lack of support from other mates.
De Villiers has been in good form so far, scoring 202 at an average of 67 with a strike rate of 151. A lot rides on his shoulders, with the Tridents requiring the Proteas star to score every time he goes to the crease.
Meanwhile, St. Lucia Zouks are sitting at the bottom of the table with just one win out of three matches they have played so far in CPL 2016. Only win came against Knight Riders in their opening game but now they are running on two match losing streak.
There are few big names namely Michael Hussey, Shane Watson, David Miller and Darren Sammy still they have not been able to perform in current edition of Caribbean Premier League 2016. They need to pull up their socks and perform consistently to stay alive. They need this win to leave last spot and move up the points table.
Result: Barbados Tridents won by 25 runs
