Wellington Firebirds have put themselves in trouble with four back to back losses so far in this season of Super Smash. They are sitting at the bottom of table and will look to lift themselves up before time runs out while their opponent look confident going into this match won on all four occasion.

Firebirds’ side features three changes with Anurag Verma and Peter Younghusband being introduced and Tom Blundell returning. Though, they have lost all four games played however margin of loss remains narrow in each game. So, they need to put little extra effort to get over the line.

Middle order looks brittle, Luke Ronchi and Grant Elliot have not been impressive. So, they need to provide their support to platform set up by top-order. Michael Papps and Hamish Marshall posted 55 runs opening stand but following batsmen couldn’t take advantage, though lower middle-order did their hard work but it was not enough to cross over the opponent score.

Meanwhile, Auckland Aces seems boss at present having won all four game so far in current season of Super Smash. They have been able to defeat their opponent comfortably except first match while they won by 22 runs.

All-rounder Colin de Grandhomme was hero of last game who smashed 72 runs of just 35 balls, well supported by SM Solia (21 balls 29) to pile up 81 runs partnership for sixth wicket to take Aces home.

Tarun Nethula took 4 wickets in his four over conceding only 18 runs. Donovan Grobbelaar and Tymal Mills claimed 3 wickets each.
