Sri Lanka whitewashed Australia to displace them from top spot in ICC Test Ranking to third which gave India relish No. 1 team in the world in longest format of cricket but this happiness was short lived because now they have slipped down to No. 2 giving Pakistan chance to become No. 1 first time ever in Test cricket.
India needed to win their last test match against West Indies to retain their No. 1 ranking but unfortunately due to wet outfield match was drawn thereby forcing India to lose 2 points. Australia is ranked three while England are ranked fourth though both teams have same number of points i.e 108 points.
India have chance to regain their number spot in ICC Test Ranking when they clash with New Zealand in three-match test series starting 22 September in India.
