India looks to stretch their winning streak

Amidst, Anil kumble’s resignation and tussle for selection of India’s new coach Indian team arrives in Antigua where carnival resumes with third of five-match One-day International series. India leads the series 1-0 including a washout first match at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.

Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan have been key to India’s success so far in this series. Duo, put up two century stand for opening wicket in last two fixture which is good news for Men in Blue. As far as highest scorer is concern Rahane tops the list with 165 runs followed by opening partner Shikhar Dhawan with 150 runs.

Yuvraj Singh’s poor show continued in second game where he could manage 14 runs, only 10 runs more than he scored in series opener. So, visitors might be tempted to hand maiden ODI Cap to Rishabh Pant who has been brilliant in domestic season.

Kuldeep Yadav, Left-arm chinaman bowler had an impressive outing in last game where he bagged three wickets at the expense of 50 runs in his possible nine overs. He sent back likes of Evin Lewis, Jason Holder and wicket-keeper batsman Shai Hope who showed some resistance despite others falling regularly.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar did what he is known for and sent back Kieran Powell to provide India breakthrough in first over. Jason Mohammed was next in medium pacer list who could only face only 8 balls without any run.

West Indies made few changes to their squad by drafting in Kyle Hope, a top order batsman and brother of Shai Hope and wicket-keeper batsman Sunil Ambris who plays for WindWard Island.

Host have not been able to provide any competition so far in any department of cricket. They need to give all they have if they hope to save this series from whitewash else possibility is clean sweep can never be ruled out.

They need two work on at least two things. Firstly, how to break opening stand and secondly, how to form a solid opening stand because they have failed in both.

Miguel Cummins has been expensive in both matches with one wicket in last game. He might be replaced with right-arm medium pacer Kesrick Williams who didn’ feature in last two games. If any changes, possibility is in bowling department because it would be harsh on any batsman dropping them on the basis of performance in one match.

Host would look to comeback to keep up their hopes alive for series win while visitors would love to continue their dominance.
