Pakistan looks to wrap up the series with third consecutive win

Two chase, two failure for Sri Lanka after successfully clean sweep of two-match test series earlier. They were not able to put up fight at any stage though they were able to restrict host to 219 runs in second game but failed to chase. Meanwhile, Pakistan have done well after humiliating test series loss and they’ll be looking to wrap things up in this game.

Lack of opening partnership and failure of middle order have been great concern for the visitors. Niroshan Dickwella’s score of 19 and 3 runs in first and second game says it all. On the other hand, skipper have done well by scoring unbeaten century though that was’nt enough to take Sri Lanka over the line in last game.

Dinesh Chandimal and Kushal Mendis are experienced contender of the side and needs to pull up socks and perform if visitors are to save this series. It was complete batting failure in last game for Sri Lanka which led them down. Thisara Perera who scored half-century in first game managed single digit in last game.

Lahiru Gamage four wickets in last game helped Sri Lanka restrict opposition at score of just 219 runs along with Thisara Parera who contributed with his two scalps. Overall, Sri Lanka bowlers have done well so far, only they need their batsman’s support.

Pakistan have regained their momentum and will be keen to claim this series in third One-Day International. Babar Azam’s back to back century highlights the two victories of Pakistan.

Batting first in last match, Pakistan lost their 6 wickets at score of 101 runs on the board but partnership to 109 runs between return to form Babar Azam and young Shadab Khan helped them post over 200 mark. Former scored brilliant century while later walked unbeaten 52 runs off 68 balls.

Shadab Khan was pick of the bowlers in second game with three wickets to his name while Mohammad Hafeez remained most economical bowlers who conceded only 24 runs in his quota of 10 overs.

This match is going to be a thriller as Sri Lanka will be looking to bounce back while host will look to finish this series here to compensate the humiliation they faced in test series.
